Parking petition handed to councils

A petition calling for improved car parking arrangements in Topsham has been handed to Devon County Council and Exeter City Council.

The petition, signed by more than 2,400 people, calls for the councils to “address, as a matter of urgency, the parking issues in Topsham, by creating additional parking spaces and establishing priorities between different users”.

It was presented to Devon County Council by St Loyes and Topsham councillor Andrew Leadbetter, and to Exeter City Council by Topsham councillor Margaret Baldwin.

The Topsham Community Association’s parking working group is now expecting to hear updates from councillors in May.
