Residents of Woodbury parish have been given the chance to vote on how more than £30,000 from housing developers should be spent.

The parish, which includes Woodbury, Woodbury Salterton and Exton, will receive the Section 106 money from house builders,

Around £32,400 is anticipated with at least £7,400 to be spent in Woodbury Salterton.

Residents were consulted last year and came up with six possible uses for the money, which must be spent on sport – a skate park with a small number of ramps, a multi-use games area with markings and goals for sports, an outdoor gym, a sports activity wall, an outdoor table tennis table, and a boules court.

It is these ideas residents have been voting on, with events in Woodbury at the end of March, and Woodbury Salterton last week.

The money is collected by East Devon District Council (EDDC), and distributed on the advice of Woodbury Parish Council.

Cheryl McGauley, who sits on the parish council, said members are waiting to hear from EDDC what the results of the consultation were, before deciding where the successful projects should go.
