Archant

The results are in with hundreds of readers across Devon voting for their favourite pancake toppings this Shrove Tuesday.

It’s Pancake Day today (Tuesday, March 28) and Devon has spoken when it comes to toppings.

In a poll last week, we asked across all of our Devon newspapers which toppings were your favourite.

From classics to whacky ideas, the result was a resounding one: lemon and sugar leads the way.

The traditional Shrove Tuesday topping is a simple but good one - and if it ain’t broke...

Nearly 300 of you voted in our poll, with 58 per cent of voters opting for sugar and lemon as their topping of choice.

Coming up second was another classic, with 22 per cent voting for ham and cheese.

Maple syrup was next with 11 per cent of the vote, followed by Nutella with five per cent.

Bacon and syrup got three per cent and blueberries and ice-cream came last with juice one per cent of the vote.

Whatever you’re topping your pancakes with this Shrove Tuesday, we hope you have a flippin’ amazing one.

And if you’ve got any other suggestions (the crazier, the better!), make sure you post them on our Facebook page or tag us on Twitter.
