Organisers are keeping a close eye on Storm Brian but they still hope to go ahead.

Organisers of Ottery Carnival will make a final decision about whether tonight’s event goes ahead in the wake of Storm Brian at 1.30pm today (Saturday, October 21).

Spokeswoman Hannah Lane said: “The weather forecast is continually changing but we will make a final review at 1.30pm, before the crowning ceremony at 2pm.

“We will of course do our upmost to keep the carnival on but safety must come first.”

The carnival procession is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm with fireworks at 9.15pm
