Exmouth Library will be hosting an open morning for The University of the Third Age (U3A) groups.
The membership of U3A club’s in East Devon, which includes Budleigh, Topsham and Exmouth, currently exceeds 200.
They present over 30 special interest groups taking part in academic, creative and leisure activities such as jewellery making, family history, reading, theatre, weather, bridge, Spanish, philosophy and walking.
Librarian Chris Launder said: “This is a great opportunity for people to learn more about the U3A and its activities in general as well as seeing if there is a specific interest group in Exmouth that they would like to join.
“Promoting social activities for the older generation is something that the library service is very keen to do.
“The impact on individuals health and well being can be huge. Everyone is welcome to come and meet the U3A members and learn more about the activities on offer.”
The event is free of charge and will be held from 10am -12am on Wednesday 17 October in Exmouth Library.
