An Exmouth Olympic torch bearer visited staff and patients at the Bicton Place Dental Practice.

An Exmouth dental practice held a double celebration when it received an Olympic torch visit and passed an industry inspection.

The Bicton Place Dental Practice played host to marathon runner, and dental patient, Colin Rowland, from Exmouth, who was chosen to carry the torch

His visit to the staff and patients raised more than £200 for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) – a cause close to diabetes sufferer Colin’s heart.

Since Colin carried the torch through Hatherleigh ahead of the games, he has taken it on tour, raising awareness of JDRF.

Jayne Moores, receptionist and office manager at the practice, said: “We were so excited to have the torch and here and we’ve taken photos of lots of our patients holding it – people loved it.”

The practice recently received a ‘glowing report’ from a Care Quality Commission inspection.
