An exciting new play area near Exmouth seafront is being launched with a special event.

New play equipment has been added to the Maer Nature Play Area, following ideas from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

Having voted for the sorts of play equipment they wanted, the children then voted for their favourite design from those suggested by contractors, choosing a layout by Proludic.

The new equipment cost £15,000, which has been paid for by East Devon District Council, using Section 106 money raised from local developments.

It will be officially opened on September 17 at 10am by Exmouth mayor John Humphreys.

Residents are welcome to attend and see the new facilities, and also try out free circus skills which will be available.
