Volunteers striving to transform Rolle College say they have enlisted a partner who could help realise their vision of transforming the college into a community hub.
Four years on from a town meeting which called for the former Rolle College site to be purchased from Plymouth University for the benefit of Exmouth, they say ‘significant steps’ to achieve their goal are about to be taken.
Rolle Exmouth Ltd (REL), the not-for-profit social enterprise company set up to lead the project, say that they have ‘maintained the pace of progress’ in working with Plymouth University to secure the whole 6.7-acre site.
Roy Pryke, chairman of REL said: “REL now has a potential partner with the necessary quality of architectural services and experience of project construction and who firmly supports the key objectives.
“Our aspiration is to establish a coherent mixed use which makes financial sense, while ensuring that the key objectives are attained. In this way REL can provide tailored facilities to meet the researched needs of Exmouth, closely targeted on the agreed vision.”
