A Budleigh charity has given itself a makeover as it carries out work to assist older people.

Age Concern Budleigh Salterton, which started as a small lunch club, has been in the community for nearly 30 years, and today offers a range of services including activity days, lunch trips and support and advice, alongside the continuing and very lively lunch club.

Now, after forming an association with other Age Concerns, the charity has adopted a new logo, website and Facebook page.

Manager Sian Bannister said: “Age Concern Budleigh Salterton is a totally independent charity, and along with our friends at Age Concern Exmouth, who are also totally independent, we have joined together with other Age Concerns in Devon to form the Devon Area Network.

“This is a group of independent charities who decided not to join a national organisation as we all felt that it is important to keep our work local.

“We meet regularly to support each other and collaborate on local projects, and we have also all adopted a new fresh logo.”

The charity’s new website is at http://ageconcernbudleigh.wix.com/age-concern-budleigh, and the Facebook page is at www.facebook.com/ageconcernbudleigh.

To mark the rebranding, the charity is inviting people over 50 to try a free lunch at its day centre lunch club on Tuesday, June 24.

Places are limited, so booking early is advisable by calling 01395 445510 by Friday, June 20.
