Month of coffee mornings starts with success for Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare

Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare’s month-long community coffee get-togethers have already raised £1,000 for the charity – despite the Beast from the East and snow trying hard to scupper the event launch. The community is invited to support the coffee mornings, or sign up and host an event for others to enjoy. Last year’s event raised more than £8,000 for the charity.

Every penny donated in the EX8 area from a series of coffee mornings in aid of Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare, is guaranteed to stay in the EX8 area.

The month-long community coffee get-togethers have already raised £1,000 for the charity – despite the Beast from the East and snow trying hard to scupper the event launch.

Throughout March a host of businesses and individuals are backing Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare with a month of events and get-togethers.

The charity hopes the community will go along and support the coffee mornings, or sign up and host an event for others to enjoy.

Last year the event raised more than £8,000 for the charity.

Lucy Hancock, Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare spokeswoman, said: “Things are going well so far and despite the continuous awful weather we are having we have already hit £1000.

“We would like to thank Franklins, in The Strand, for holding the launch and raising a wonderful £433; a great amount considering we were up against the Beast from the East.

The residents of Roswell Court managed to still get together last Saturday, raising £102, and £114.55 was raised by local residents who live in the area of Littlemead Church.”

To get involved and support the charity, the following Exmouth businesses are holding coffee mornings:

Wednesday March 14, The Bookrest Café, The Parade;

Exmouth Rugby Club, Imperial Recreation Ground, 10am-12noon;

Saturday, March 17, Teapots, Withycombe Village Road, all day;
