Exmouth Air Cadets have held their annual open evening and prize giving, with Exmouth mayor John Humphreys on hand to congratulate the winners.

The mayor visited the 299 Squadron headquarters to inspect the cadets, and find out about their achievements over the past 12 months.

He then gave out the prizes, including the Cadet of the Year award, which went to Sergeant George Foulston.

The mayor’s visit comes as air cadet groups across Devon and Somerset are appealing for new adult volunteers, and the Exmouth group says it would like one new helper.

Volunteers do not need any military experience, as full training will be given, and CRB checks will be undertaken by the air cadet organisation.

For more information contact Flt Lt Rich Bagnall by emailing oc.299@aircadets.org.
