Exmouth’s St John Ambulance has had a helping hand from another group of lifesavers – International Rescue!
The charity was the chosen cause this year of the town’s marathon record breaker Dave Stone, who dressed as Virgil Tracy from Thunderbirds while running the London Marathon last month, in the process breaking his fourth costumed world record in four years.
As always, though, for Dave it was about fundraising as well as record breaking, and after collections and a competition at his workplace, Kings Garden Centre, he was able to hand over £500.
Regular runner and Exmouth Harriers member Dave said: “St John Ambulance are at all the races and support the runners, so it’s good to give something back to them.”
