Fire crews put out a log store fire in Lympstone on Monday, October 16.

Crews from Exmouth attended after reports of a pile of logs on fire in Exmouth Road at around 2.40pm.

On arrival, crews discovered one log store, measuring three metres by three metres, was well alight.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the log store contained around 10 tonnes of commercial logs.

The spokesman added: “Crews requested the water bowser as the water supply in the area was bad. The water bowser from Danes Castle was mobilised.

“Crews used one 45-mil jet and one hose reel jet with water from the bowser to extinguish the fire.”
