Lympstone artists have been showcasing their talents throughout August - and raising charity funds.

An open studio ran at Brook End for four weeks, with different artists showing their work each week, and around 15 artists have shown their work overall.

Artist Lin Holdridge, who organised the event with studio owner Debbie Mitchell, said: “It’s been brilliant – very well received. We’ve had a lot of visitors, both local and from afar, and the reaction has been very positive.

“We decided we’d like to have an open studio to showcase local talent, and it’s really just to flag up the fact that we do have an artistic community here. We hope to do it again on a yearly basis.”

As well as showing the art work, the event has also been raising money for good causes, with a raffle being held for Hospiscare, and donations being collected for Connie McCance, a local youngster with cerebral palsy.

Organisers expect around £250 to be raised overall.
