Disabled Margaret Ralph said she would be grateful if whoever found her lost cash returns it - ‘no questions asked’.

A disabled woman from Exmouth is appealing to the better nature of the person who found and kept her lost £30.

Wheelchair user Margaret Ralph, 58, and husband Michael, 61, from Brixington, survive on a fortnightly carer’s allowance payment of £246.

Mum-of-two Margaret, who suffers from osteoarthritis, ‘sobbed’ when she failed to notice she had dropped the couple’s last £30 while shopping in Brixington’s Tesco Express.

The pair, who struggled to feed their pet and ‘scrimped’ on essentials like milk over the weekend until their next benefit payment, are asking the person who found the cash to return it – no questions asked.

Margaret said staff at Tesco told her the cash had not been handed in.

She said: “When you lose £30 it’s gut-wrenching. To get the money back would be just wonderful. We could put some fuel in the car.

The grandmother-of-one, who was homeless on the streets as a teenager, said money was tight now she was disabled.

l Return the cash to 153 Langstone Drive, Brixington.
