The pupils proudly joined in the banner parade displaying their own flag made as part of the school’s bi-centenary last year.

They took part in a special service involving children from many Devon schools led by the Bishop of Plymouth, John Ford.

Duncan Nelmes, headteacher, said: “These occasions are really wonderful opportunities for the children to make links with other schools.

“Last year the children met Bishop Bob (Evens), as part of our outstanding church school inspection, and now they know Bishop John too!”
