PropOsals in Littleham for 40 new homes and eight ‘commercial units’ were withdrawn before district planners had the chance to debate them.
The plans by Pankhurst Fish Ltd called for the development at Pankhurst Close Trading Estate which would have included 10 afforadble homes and was due to be considered by the district council’s development management committee on Tuesday.
But the application, which was recommended for refusal by planning officers, was withdrawn.
A report by planners read: “Whilst the current building on the site is in a poor state of repair and been vacant for a considerable time, it is not considered that the loss of the whole of the designated employment site has been justified...
“...the application fails to justify the provision of 25 per cent affordable housing against a policy requirement for a minimum of 40 per cent...”
