A fire which destroyed a Withycombe bungalow yesterday evening is being treated as suspicious by police.
No-one was in the property, 18 Kay Close, when the fire broke out just before 8pm, and no-one was injured.
The fire gutted number 18, and spread to other properties causing smoke damage.
A joint police and fire investigation is being held, and police are appealing for witnesses.
DC Jason Skuse said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area. Thankfully no-one was injured but the fire caused extensive damage to the bungalow.”
Anyone with information which may assist with the investigation is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 863 of August 8, or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or report online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
