Donations of coppers and small change all add up - that is why Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare team is grateful to all who display the charity’s collecting tins.

Every penny counts – that is the motto of the Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare team, who are grateful for any donation, no matter how small.

The Hospiscare volunteers said public donations have successfully contributed to the £220,000 needed to annually run the charity.

Part of this was raised through a host of charity collection tins placed on counters in businesses throughout the town.

The Hopsiscare team is grateful to each and every one of its supporters and is always keen to hear from traders, schools and organisations willing to display a collecting tin.

Donations, no matter how small, all help to keep the lifeline service running for those in need.

The charity also welcomes support from local businesses donating large sums.

Pam Warren, head of fundraising, said: “We are not asking everybody to give a lot but we are asking everybody give something.

“If everybody gave a coin, however small, that would be amazing.”

The charity supports people with life-threatening illnesses in the Exmouth and Lympstone areas.

Donations raised locally support patients living in the Exmouth and Lympstone areas.

Currently, 90 people are supported by the volunteers, plus two clinical nurse specialists whose care enables patients to stay in their own homes instead of being treated in hospital. The dedicated team works from a centre in Highview Gardens, offering a range of services, including complimentary therapies, help coping with bereavement and meetings for carers.
