Horse dies on Exmouth beach

A horse being ridden on Exmouth beach collapsed and died, Portland Coastguard has reported.
A horse died on Exmouth beach on Sunday afternoon after it collapsed while being ridden.
Exmouth coastguard and paramedics were called to the beach shortly after 4.30pm.
A Portland coastguard spokesperson said: “Exmouth Coastguards and South Western Ambulance attended a female who was injured after her horse collapsed on the beach at Exmouth.
“She was checked but not seriously injured so was not taken to hospital.
“The horse, sadly, died.”
