An acclaimed musician will be sharing his skills at a guitar workshop in Exeter, before performing on stage.

Phillip Henry has made his name playing slide guitar augmented with beatbox harmonica.

He released five albums with singer-songwriter Hannah Martin, who also plays the fiddle and banjo, and the duo won a Radio 2 Folk Award in 2014.

He has now launched a solo career with an album, True North, marking a decade of travelling around the world with his guitar, absorbing different musical cultures and writing music along the way.

His influences include blues, folk, country, Indian classical music and Americana, along with inspirations from musical friends.

Henry will be holding the guitar workshop at the Exeter Phoenix from 4pm-6pm on Thursday, October 25, followed by a concert at 7.30pm. Tickets for the workshop only are £10, for the concert only £12, or £20 for both.
