HARASSMENT: Police say that on December 28 a man breached his restraining order.

ASSAULT: An assault occurred in the High Street, Budleigh Salterton, on Friday, January 4.

A man was arrested for two counts of assault and has been given a harassment warning.

THEFT: Goods have been stolen from the Co-op in the High Street Budleigh Salterton.

Police say the incident happened on January 14, at 1.30pm.

A white male in his late 20s to early 30s, together with a white woman of the same age, stole a number of items.

Police say the theft has been linked to a series of similar thefts in the area and the investigation is on-going.

CONFERENCE: More than 100 guests are expected at a conference at the EaRTH Centre, Bicton College, tomorrow (Friday).

They represent many different organisations who have an interest in the future of farming including those from the local councils, Cornwall Farmers, Devon County Agricultural Association, Devon WFU, Cornwall Business Council, Flybe, Rare Breeds Survival Trust, Dairy Crest, Duchy of Cornwall.

Speakers include Professor Michael Winter OBE, director of the centre for Rural Policy Research, University of Exeter, Jonty Williams, The Husbandry School, Ashburton,

Kevin Fediani, Paignton Zoo, Jody Scheckter, Laverstoke Park and Vaughan Lindsay, Dartington Hall Trust.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE: The padlocks on the Westend Kiosk, steamer steps, were cut between December 21 and 28.

FENCE BIDS: Two Budleigh properties are bidding to build 1.5-metre-high fences around their properties. The owner of 1 Copplestone Road, Budleigh Salterton, has applied to build a 1.5m high close boarded fence with 0.5m-high trellis on top along rear boundary.

The owner of 7 Meadow Road, Budleigh Salterton, has applied to retain and complete the boundary wall and fence with associated gate to front of garden.

Both plans will now be considered by district planners.
