Two Devon charities are each now £1,200 better off thanks to Budleigh Salterton Carnival Club.

The club has made the donations to the Devon Freewheelers and Devon Air Ambulance Trust, with the money raised from its Joey the Lips concert at Ladram Bay last month, which was attended by around 400 people.

The club said it would like to thank Ladram Bay for their help and support, and also DJ Dale and Freddie House for adding to the evening’s entertainment.

The cheques were presented at the club’s AGM.

The club is now beginning its hunt for this year’s Budleigh Salterton Gala Week royal family.

A king, queen, prince and princess are sought, with places going to those who raise the most sponsor money.

Each entrant keeps a third of the money raised.

For sponsor forms call Julie on 01395 442067.
