An inspirational team of nine family and friends from Exmouth, who have all suffered from or been affected by cancer, are running in the Plymouth half-marathon for charity.

Only last year 47-year-old Suzanne Pashley had surgery to remove breast cancer, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Now she is preparing to run the gruelling route on April 27 alongside Amanda King, Sharon Wright, Julia Wensley, Jemma Rumsby, Jasmine Pashley, Suzanne Pashley, Martin Pashley, Stewart Mason and Andrew Williams.

‘TeamSuzanne’ will be fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and so far they have almost £950.

Suzanne said: “This time last year I was undergoing surgery to remove breast cancer - 2013 was a scary and unpleasant year for me and my family, the treatment was pretty gruelling and unpleasant.

“The help received from Macmillan was invaluable and it’s not until you or someone close in your family get affected by cancer that you realise just how much support you need. “

“All of us have been affected by cancer in some form or another and we want to raise funds to keep the support going for others who go through these unpleasant times.”
