Exmouth fundraiser Steve Gazzard has thanked all those who generously sponsored his team for the Christmas Day Swim - helping them raise £250 for charity in memory of his daughter.

Steve said: “The thousands of swimmers had a fantastic time, many in amazing costumes.

“We were raising funds for my late daughter, Exmouth mother Sarah Wright’s charity The British Lung Foundation, for research into the illness that so sadly took her young life at the age of 36.

“With the help of our many sponsors we raised the magnificent total of £250, and if any of your readers would
still like to make a donation it is not too late.”

Steve said a huge thank you to his ‘wonderful’ team - Phillipa and Mark Crellin; Harry Wright; Mervyn Jackman and Anthony Siddall.

He also thanked the RNLI for being there to keep swimmers safe and the thousands of spectators that cheered those taking part on.
