Topsham charity Devon in Sight has received welcome funds from a recent flower festival – and presented the organiser with her own bouquet.
The charity has received £1,200 following the St Margaret’s Church flower festival – half the total raised, with the other half going towards the church.
Now organiser Mary Grinyer has visited the charity’s resource centre in Holman Way to hand over the funds, and received a bouquet of flowers as a thank you.
Devon in Sight’s Christina Zheng said: “We’re so pleased that the flower festival raised this money for us, and also helped to raise awareness of what we offer, and we’re looking forward to working with St Margaret’s again in the future.
“We are really grateful for the support we received from Mary and her husband Peter. We receive no money from the government, so as community fundraiser I need to raise at least £45,000 a year to help to fund our work, and we rely 100 per cent on people’s donations.”
Mary said: “I’m delighted to be given this bouquet - I never get flowers, I’m really pleased. It’s really very special.”
