People whose homes have been affected by flooding in Topsham are being invited to an event looking at flood prevention.

The Topsham Emergency Group, on behalf of Topsham Community Association, is hosting a Flood Fair on Friday, July 4, between 3pm and 8pm at Matthews Hall.

The focus is on flood prevention in Topsham following February’s storms, but any Exeter residents affected by flooding are invited to attend.

The fair will include an exhibition and information on a range of subjects, including individual property protection, with information on various forms of flood defence from a range of suppliers, and community schemes, with agencies on hand to give information about repairs to damaged flood defences and plans for enhanced defences for the River Exe

There will also be information about grants and finances available to householders whose properties were flooded in February, and the role of the Topsham Emergency Group.

There will also be a question and answer session from 6.30pm to 8pm where residents will be able to put questions to a panel of experts including the Environment Agency, South West Water and Exeter City Council.

For more information, visit www.topsham.org.uk, or contact Richard Horne by calling 07527 221244 or emailing topfloods@topsham.org.uk.
