‘Do not drive through floodwater’ - fire service urges motorists after overnight torrential rain hits East Devon

Devon and Somerset Fire and rescue Service is experiencing widespread calls to flooding across the region.

Earlier this morning Fire Control was managing 30 incidents at the following locations:

Starcross, Shaldon,Stokeinteignhead, Dawlish, Modbury, Plymstock, Teignmouth, Ilminster, Wellington, Exton, Highbridge, Yealmpton, Bilbrook, Newton Ferrers, Bow, Martock,, Lewdown, Diptford, Williton, Yelverton and Plymouth.

The fire service is urging the public not to drive through floodwater, to seek an alternative route and consider whether the journey is necessary.
