Fire crews were called out this afternoon to reports of a fire in a block of flats in Budleigh Salterton.

Crews received a call at 12.28pm to flats in Norman Crescent, and on arrival confirmed that the three-storey building, which was evacuated, was heavily smoke-logged.

Firefighters confirmed there had been a fire in a light fitting in a ground-floor communal area, and made the scene safe.
