NEW PROPOSAL SUPPORTED: Amended plans for a new home in Withycombe have been backed by Exmouth Town Council.

Councillors had previously expressed concerns about the plan for 23 St Johns Road, on the grounds that a proposed garage would have been dug into a neighbouring bank, and could have affected trees.

However, the latest plans have replaced the garage with a rear parking area, and councillors were therefore happy to support the scheme.

The plan will now be considered by East Devon District Council.

COMMUNITY MEETING: The next meeting for Exmouth Community Association members (ECA) is on Monday, March 1, at the Telfer Building at the Community College. The meeting will discuss what is happening with the local plan, the district council’s housing and business blueprint up to 2026 and the masterplan which outlines the regeneration of Exmouth over decades. Members will also have the chance to give their views on what should be included in the community plan. A community plan will enable residents to say what it thinks the town should look like in the future.
