‘Fabulous’ Age Concern Exmouth Christmas lunch

Around 40 pensioners were treated to a ‘fabulous’ Christmas lunch at Exmouth’s Manor Hotel.

The event was to give guests – some of whom may be on their own during the festive season – some good cheer.

The meal was paid for by the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District, organised by Age Concern and hosted by the Manor Hotel.

“It was fabulous,” said Age Concern Exmouth CEO Gill Smith. “The Beacon School Choir came and entertained us, and Santa gave everyone a present. The food was fabulous. Ali from the Manor Hotel did a fantastic job, and her staff were lovely. There were five Rotarians making everyone feel welcome.”

There was also a draw for a Christmas hamper and tickets to an Age Concern coach trip.

“It was a lovely feel-good pre-Christmas,” said Gill. “Some people may not be with anybody else for Christmas, and it’s a lonely place on your own.”
