Plans to build a single storey extension at 12 Elvis Road have been backed by Exmouth Town Council. Read this and more.

SIGN AWARDS: Exmouth people are being asked to nominate sign language users for an award.

The fourth annual Signature Awards, which recognise those who contribute to the deaf community, are looking for the South West Teacher of the Year and Learner of the Year.

Nominations can be submitted at www.signature.org.uk/awards until May 2.

ELVIS EXTENSION: Plans to build a single storey extension at 12 Elvis Road have been backed by Exmouth Town Council.

The plan will now be considered by East Devon District Council.

MISSING MAN SAFE: Reports an elderly man had been missing from his Exmouth home for several hours prompted the town’s coastguard team to swing into action.

Exmouth coastguards were tasked shortly before 3pm on Sunday and a search was carried out of the area with the coastguard helicopter rescue team.

The police received information that the man had been found safe and well by dog walkers, but a long way from his home.

ELF FUN: A quiz night in aid of the Exmouth branch of Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) is being held at the Baptist Church Hall, Victoria Road, on Saturday, February 25.

The doors open at 7.15pm, with the quiz starting at 7.30pm prompt.

The fun evening includes refreshments and light bites to eat.

Tickets are £5 in advance from 01395 268820.
