A teenager from Exmouth has thanked passers-by for helping her after a ‘horrible’ incident left her car overturned.

Kayley Stoneman, 18, was driving to Exeter on Thursday, March 9, at 9.30am with her friend, Alisha Reid, 17, when her car rolled over near the B3180 and the B3179 in Woodbury, after sliding on some mud and being forced to swerve out of the way of oncoming traffic.

The duo, who were left with no major injures, wanted to thank a cyclist and a lady who helped them following the incident.

Kayley, who has only been driving for four months, said: “I want to say thank-you for stopping.

“A lot of cars saw what happened and drove off, but he [the cyclist] really helped.

“He stayed with us for about 10 minutes and, after he left, two ladies came over.

“We have thanked one of the ladies, but we don’t know who the other one was.”
