The 30-year-old son accused of murdering his Exmouth mum has been remanded in custody by a judge at Exeter Crown Court.
A roofer has been remanded in custody accused of the murder of his mother at her home in Exmouth last week.
Andrew Cane, aged 30, was remanded by Judge Mr Justice Butterfield during a brief hearing at Exeter Crown Court which was held in chambers.
He is due to return to the same court on July 31 for a preliminary hearing, at which a timetable for the exchange of prosecution and defence papers will be set
Cane is accused of the murder of his mother Linda Sheard, aged 63, who was found dead at the home they shared in Port Mer Close, Brixington, Exmouth, on Wednesday July 11.
He was arrested in Gloucester on Saturday.
Cane worked for the Exmouth based building contractors DJH Roofers, where his mother also worked as a secretary
