The police have arrested 30-year-old Andrew Cane in relation to the death of his 63-year-old Exmouth mum.
Police have arrested a man wanted in connection with the death of his Exmouth mother.
Grandmother Linda Sheard, 63, was found dead at her Port Mer Close home, in Brixington, on Wednesday evening.
Police said Andrew Cane, 30, was arrested in Gloucester in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He is being held in custody at Heavitree Road police station, in Exeter.
A Devon and Cornwall police spokesperson said: “A 30 year old man was arrested at 12.15am this morning, Saturday 14th July, in the Gloucester area in connection with the death of Linda Sheard.
“He has been conveyed back to Devon and remains in custody at Exeter police station awaiting interview.”
The police said more than 30 officers had been involved in the murder enquiry, which had been carried out in Devon, Cornwall, Bristol and Swindon.
