Exmouth in Bloom is giving people the chance to brighten up their walls and support the group’s work, with the launch of its 2014 calendar.
The calendar is one of the committee’s annual fundraising initiatives, and contributes to the cost of the flower displays and watering in and around the town.
The calendar is sponsored by more than 30 local businesses, and the Bloom committee says it is grateful to those firms for their continuing support.
This year’s calendar is being launched earlier than normal, and Exmouth in Bloom is hoping this will increase sales by allowing it to sell to summer visitors as well as local shoppers.
The calendar is available to buy for £5 from Exmouth Indoor Market Card Shop, Exmouth Town Hall, Porky Down, Kings Garden and Leisure Centre, The Fountain Café, Oliver’s Hairdressers, Upstairs at Franklins, the Tourist Information Centre at Travelworld, and Aspect Framing.
The group said it would also like to thank Nick of Exmouth Farmers Market for allowing the calendars to be sold there for the launch.
Exmouth in Bloom has also announced the winners of its annual children’s art competition, held in conjunction with local Rainbows and Brownies.
The winners were Milly Tew, six, of 2nd Rolle Rainbows, and Tilly Schofield, nine, of 1st and 7th Exmouth Brownies, and they were each presented with book tokens by group chairman Pat Graham.
