THIS year’s Exmouth Grammar School reunion was a brilliant success, say the organizers.
Held recently at the Royal Beacon Hotel, 82 former pupils reunited, 40 of them from the intake year of 1953, celebrating their 60th anniversary.
“It was brilliant!” said reunion co-organizer Elaine Bagnall. “It was the best one we’ve ever had! I’ve had so many emails from people to say thank you. They all enjoyed it. And we met up with people we hadn’t seen for 40 or 50 years!”
People came from far and wide, including Keith Roland, who travelled from Florida.
Archive photos at the event helped the memories to flood back, prompting the daughter of one of the teachers to give the organizers all his old school magazines.
“It’s great that she kept them all,” said Elaine. “We’ve now got a record of everything we wanted to know.”
Next year’s reunion is on Friday, October 3, 2014. And the intake year of 1953 are looking forward to celebrating their 70th anniversary… in 2023.
