CHAMBER’S CALL: Ideas are needed from business leaders to raise the profile of Exmouth Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is seeking ideas from the membership as to how to advance the chamber, improve communications, increase membership, provide additional services, member benefits and other processes.
John Thorogood, membership secretary, said: “The chamber executive has formulated a simple survey in order to gain an insight into members’ views and to move the chamber forward.”

CHARITY FUNDRAISER: A family fun day to raise money for a cancer charity is being held at the HQ of the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue this Saturday, August 18, from 10am to 4pm.
The event will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and to enable Exmouth’s fighting fireman, Matt Mason, to defend his firefighters’ world boxing championship in Australia.
The day will include a raffle, stalls, a bouncy castle, a vintage fire engine, face painting and children’s games.
Also on offer will be specialist rescue demonstrations, the fire service’s concert band, a barbecue, Fireman Sam and a climbing wall, as well as tips on fire safety.
FLATS BID: A scheme to develop 6 St Andrews Road into four flats will be decided by district planers on August 21.
