Exmouth man David Walker has been shortlisted for a prestigious care award thanks to his ‘instinctive and professional manner’.
A carer from Exmouth has been nominated for a regional award in the forthcoming Great South West Care Awards 2012.
David Walker, who works for the Exeter and East Devon office of Home Instead Senior Care, has been nominated as a finalist in the Care Newcomer Award category.
He will learn if he has scooped the award next month during a ceremony in Bristol hosted by TV comedian Dom Joly.
David was nominated by office director, Vanessa McGlade, for his ‘instinctive and professional manner’.
She said David’s care helped a wheelchair bound client until they could walk with the aid of a stick.
She said: “David has worked tirelessly with his clients to build their confidence and help them to live more independently, encouraging and supporting them each step of the way. His clients constantly praise him to the highest degree. “
