Exmouth’s Blockbuster store is not currently on the list of branches facing closure, after the video rental chain called in the administrators last week.

However, staff still face an uncertain future as the process continues.

The chain’s administrators, Deloitte LLP, has confirmed plans to close 129 stores over the coming weeks as part of a phased closure, in addition to 31 which had already been put on notice of closure.

A spokesman for Deloitte LLP confirmed that the Exmouth store is not on these lists.

The company has 528 stores across the UK employing 4,190 staff.
