Exmouth Young Carers recently enjoyed a sunny Santa Cruise on the River Exe, thanks to funding from Exmouth Raleigh Rotary Club, Westbank and Stuart Line Cruises.

On Saturday, December 16, 34 children and 29 family members took to the water from Exmouth Marina to celebrate Christmas and reward them for a year of caring.

Exmouth children were joined by others from the local area.

The annual event – organised by Sue Morton of the Exmouth Raleigh Rotary Club – was this year co-sponsored by Exmouth and District Rotary, Hays Travel and the Royal Marine Association. Exmouth town crier Roger Bourgein, as usual, added to the festive occasion.

“This is a great outing and treat for these very special local young carers as a treat at Christmas with tea and presents from Santa,” said a Rotary spokesperson. “It shows our appreciation for these very special youngsters for their dedication throughout the year.”
