The year 1944, which is just about to pass into the realm of history, will be remembered for all time.. Britain, inspired by one of the greatest men of all time,”stood alone” in the path of the conqueror, and, with her “blood and sweat and toil and tears,” held the Nazi beast at bay until Allies came to her aid.

In other news: Littleham man, Sergt Arthur Glover, RAF, who is serving in Palestine, has completed a pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre. His parents were pleased to receive from him on Christmas Day by air mail, his pilgrim’s certificate.

Wanted: Well known firm wishes to buy several saloon cars for travellers; highest prices paid.
