The Local Savings return for Exmouth has, this week, reached £3,008,681. Chairman of the Exmouth Local Savings Committee W.E. Dean, wrote to the Journal to express the thanks and congratulations of the committee to the people of Exmouth.

Also in the news: An inexperienced sergeant was among those fined 10s by Exmouth Sessions for riding a pedal cycle without a red rear light. The sergeant put it down to not being used to riding a bicycle.
