A ‘striking’ new monument at a new Exmouth housing development has been unveiled.

Lord Clinton was joined by town leaders and representatives from developer Taylor Wimpey and landowner Clinton Devon Estates (CDE) to reveal the granite topograph at the top of Donkey Hill in the new 264-home Plumb Park development.

The monument, which indicates key features in the area surrounding the development in the Littleham area of Exmouth, has been fitted in one of the 14 areas of public open space being created at the site.

Visibile from Donkey Hill on a clear day are Phear Park, Orcombe Point and A la Ronde as well as Mamhead Castle, Portland Bill and Berry Head.

Leigh Rix, head of property and land at CDE, said: “The topograph is a fitting crown for Plumb Park which has been sensitively designed to provide new homes and open space for the community of Exmouth.

“The unveiling of the monument also marks a significant milestone in this important project which began will over eight years ago.”
