AN EXMOUTH woman says she’s “lucky to have been chosen” to be part of the Women’s Aid team running this year’s London Marathon on Sunday, April 13.

Samantha Dorman, 41, of Bradham Lane, will be pounding the capital’s streets for 26 miles in memory of her best friend, who lost her life to domestic violence in 2010.

“I’ve been lucky to have been chosen to be part of the Women’s Aid marathon team, helping to raise money to support, help and save lives of abused women and children,” said Samantha.

“I’m running the London Marathon in memory of my best friend, who was tragically taken from us almost three years ago, after suffering in a domestic violence relationship.

“I know that she would be so happy to know that I am helping a charity that can support other women who are going through what she went through.”

In the build-up to the event, Samantha has run two half-marathons, one raising money for a burns unit at a London hospital, the other for Women’s Aid.

“Please help me to raise money for this fantastic charity,” said Samantha. “With your help we can improve and save the lives of abused women and children.”
