A record number of competitors took part in Exmouth’s traditional Boxing Day Family Fun Run, raising more than £1,725 for charity.

Organised by the Rotary Club of Exmouth Raleigh, the event was run along the town’s seafront, starting at Ocean, then on to Orcombe Point and returning via the coastal path.

“Although the weather was threatening, nearly 400 locals and visitors ran off their turkey Christmas and took part in this happy charity event,” said a Rotary spokesperson.

“With runners aged from five years to a lady in her 70’s, everyone had an enjoyable time, raising over £1,725 for Exmouth Raleigh’s local charities and the British Heart Foundation.

“The organisers wish to thank the record number who took part and also St John’s Ambulance team who gave up their holiday time and the Ocean staff.”
