Exmouth’s Bicton Inn has been presented with a certificate by the Exeter and East Devon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) as its Winter Pub of the Year for 2017.

The presentation took place this week, and followed the award’s announcement earlier this month. Alison Brockbank, the Bicton Inn’s landlady, was presented with the certificate by Steve Murray, branch chairman, Exeter and East Devon CAMRA, supported by Exmouth Town Crier Roger Bourgein.

CAMRA selected the Bicton from almost 900 pubs in East Devon for the quality of its real ales and as a good pub to visit during the winter months.

A CAMRA spokesperson said, “We are delighted to be able to give the Bicton Inn our award for Winter Pub of the Year. The event was attended by 13 branch members and we all had an enjoyable evening.”

The Bicton will now go forward to the national finals.
