Liz Balbi, who set up All Saints Pre-School, based at the church hall, in Church Road, was the guest of honour as staff, parents and dignitaries celebrated four decades of the group.

The event also featured the pre-school’s sports day and marked the last day for those youngsters moving on the primary school.

Exmouth mayor Jeff Trail and his wife were also in attendance and, along with Liz, presented all the children with their medals for the sporting events, as well as the leavers with their certificates.

Town crier Roger Bourgein and children from ‘Little Feet’ childminders were also among the invited guests for the joint celebration.
