Exmouth police are keen for information about a car that was damaged while parked on the seafront. Read this and more.

FLOOD REPORT: An urgent report into the economic effects of last year’s severe storms on the county’s transport network has been ordered by the leader of Devon County Council.

The bad weather caused chaos for many parts of East Devon including Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton.

Councillor John Hart called for the report to provide evidence, which would enable the county council to launch a campaign for urgent Government action to repair the battered rail and road network.

He said county council leaders would be meeting Devon’s MPs within the next few weeks and the impact of the storms on infrastructure would be top of the agenda.

TRAIN LINE: Prime Minister David Cameron is to ask the Department for Transport to look into calls for the railway line between Honiton and Sidmouth to be reinstated.

The return of a train service between the market town and coast is on Honiton Town Council’s wish list.

But it was Honiton resident Alan Cameron who raised the issue with Number 10 - after reading about it in the Journal’s sister newspaper, the Midweek Herald.
