Exmouth Musical Theatre Company (EMCo) is keeping everything crossed to learn if it has been successful in the ‘Oscars of the South West’.
The amateur musical-theatre group has been nominated in several of the categories at the 2016 Rose Bowl Awards, held in Bristol in October.
The company’s production of Evita has been nominated in the categories for best actress (Jo Killoran) and best supporting actor (Craig Butler). Also nominated for best actress for Acorn Antiques is Anne Killoran.
Acorn Antiques was also nominated for best musical nod.
The awards are open to any amateur dramatic or operatic club in the South West and aim to ‘encourage excellence in the amateur theatre’.
Nominations for the 19 award categories were announced in August and the winner will be announced in the autumn.
Currently EMCo is busy rehearsing its next show, Rock of Ages, on at Exmouth Pavilion in November.
